롤링스톤지가 선정하는 가장 위대한 솔로기타 음악에서 32위를 차지했고 록앤롤 명예의 전당 500곡중의 한곡이다.
다이아 스트레이츠가 들려주는 음악은 WHY WORRY, SO FAR AWAY등 감성을 자극하고 핑거기법의 기타의 달인인 마크 노플러의 연주 솜씨 만큼이나 좋은곡들이 많다.
이곡을 쓴 마크 노플러는 비가오는 날 황량한 펍에서  재즈를 연주하고 있는 밴드를 보고 영감을 얻어서 곡을 썼는데  데뷔하자 마자 첫앨범에서 밀리언셀러를 기록하면서 그들의 실력을 유감없이 발휘하였다.
이들의 음악적 특색은 가사를 중얼거리는듯하면서도 읊조리듯 부르는데 특징이 있고 노래도 힘들이지 않고 편하게 부르면서 그의 삐꾸없는 핑거기법의 기타솜씨는 부드러움과 더불어 가장 매혹적인 화음을 들려준다.
또한 그들의 대표곡인 Sultans of Swing은 중고급 기타교습의 상징으로 널리 불리워지고있고 여기에서 말하는 스윙의 황제들은 어쩌면 자기 자신을 이야기하는 것인지도 모른다.
